Dj Movies is a movie discovery app. You can browse commentary-movie catalogs, watch trailers, and share star ratings and written reviews with the community. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete your data.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Dj Movies, we may collect:
Account and device: We use Firebase Authentication and may sign you in anonymously. We associate your account with a stable device identifier (for example Android ID or an app-derived fallback) so we can sync preferences, keep one primary account per device, and operate the app reliably.
Country and age: You tell us your country and age at onboarding. Country helps us show the right catalog and discovery experience. Age is used for age-appropriate advertising and compliance with privacy rules.
Discovery preferences: Favorite genres and DJs, search history, likes and dislikes, onboarding choices, and in-app settings. Some data is stored on your device and/or in our backend.
Ratings, reviews, and comments: When you rate or review a title, we store your star rating, review text, user identifier, display name (if shown), and country label as configured in the app. Reviews may be visible to other users on the title page.
Usage data: Trailer views, catalog browsing, and similar interactions needed to personalize discovery and improve the app.
Support and feedback: Problem reports, help messages, and similar content you send us.
Advertising data: We use Google AdMob to show ads (for example banner ads). AdMob and Google may collect or receive certain information (such as device identifiers, approximate location, and ad interaction data) to serve, limit, and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s policies. Where required by law (for example in the EEA or UK), we use Google’s User Messaging Platform to collect or record your advertising consent choices before serving personalized ads. You can change ad personalization choices later in your device’s Google settings.
Technical and analytics data: We use Firebase Analytics and related Google services for app version, device type, usage events, and diagnostics to operate, secure, and improve the app.
We do not require a display name, phone number, or payment details to browse catalogs, watch trailers, or post reviews.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
Provide the discovery experience: browse catalogs, watch trailers, filter by DJ or genre, and post ratings and reviews.
Personalize discovery based on your preferences and interactions.
Show and measure advertising, subject to your consent choices where required.
Operate support, moderation, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.
Enforce our Terms of Use, comply with law, and meet legal obligations where applicable.
Improve reliability and performance of the app.
3. Data Storage and Third Parties
We use Google Firebase and related Google services, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Analytics. Data may be processed on Google infrastructure in various regions, under Google’s and Firebase’s terms and privacy notices.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
4. Deleting Your Data (In-App)
You can permanently delete your data from our systems using Settings in the app:
Erase All App History & Data — Removes your Firebase user account and associated server data, then clears local app data on the device.
Delete Account — Performs the same category of permanent server-side deletion and local wipe for the signed-in user.
Server deletion may include: your user profile and related records (for example preferences, comments and reviews, and problem reports tied to your user id), your device binding record, and user settings. We then remove the Firebase Authentication user so the account cannot be signed in again.
Some information may be retained where law, tax, or fraud prevention requires it, or in aggregated or de-identified form that does not identify you. Backups may persist for a limited time before rotation.
If you cannot use the app, you may contact us (see below) to request deletion, subject to verification and legal limits.
5. Your Other Rights and Choices
You may:
Browse and review without adding a display name.
Manage advertising consent through Google’s consent tools where shown, and through your device’s Google ad settings.
Request access to or correction of personal data by contacting us.
If you are in a region with specific privacy laws (for example GDPR or similar), you may have additional rights such as portability, restriction, or objection; contact us to exercise them.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures and Firebase security rules and server-side checks to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Dj Movies is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Users
Your country selection helps us tailor catalog and discovery content. If you use the Service from outside the country where our servers or providers operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries where privacy laws may differ.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy where allowed by law. Material changes may be communicated in the app or by other reasonable means.
